Grab Some #VanLife on a Campervan Holiday this Year
If you have spent some time scrolling through Instagram in the last couple of years or like to spend a few hours in front of YouTube every now and again, you have probably seen something of #VanLife.
Thousands of people, if not more it seems, have decided to take the ultimate step, downsizing and switching from home living to van living. This may seem dramatic to some, but to those who want a simpler life and to not get bogged down by too many possessions, switching to living in a van can be a huge money saver, as well as giving them a lot more freedom.
The #VanLife is probably too extreme for most people to live full-time, but a short holiday or extended break living minimally and going wherever the road takes you sounds very appealing. People spend thousands on luxury holidays, and never see more than the same beach and hotel restaurant. Grabbing some #VanLife for a short while sounds like a much more fun way to spend your holiday money!
Explore Great Britain on a Campervan Tour
A great place to start experimenting with the van life is right outside your front door. If you are going to be driving on holiday, British roads are a safe place for beginners to start, and you will be surprised at how many amazing places you can discover right here at home.
You can drive a standard campervan on a regular class B driving licence. Campervan insurance isn’t much more than car insurance and possibly cheaper than some holiday car rental insurance costs. Make sure it covers your campervan contents too though, just in case.
Really Stretch Your Legs with a European Campervan Road Trip
With a quick dash through the Channel Tunnel train or a short voyage across the channel, you could be on your own European adventure in no time at all.
Driving through mainland Europe is a little different from driving on British roads, but after crossing to Calais, you are just hours away from Belgium, Holland, and Germany, and a day away from Spain and Italy. If you want a two-week holiday to remember, or want to take an even longer break, then a campervan tour could give you everything you are looking for. A few days in France, in Spain for the weekend, and on to the Southern French coast and up to Italy before Friday.
Jet Away for a Campervan Holiday – Try Iceland For Something Different
There are plenty of packaged campervan holidays available if you want something more organized and a campervan company to rely on.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people visit Iceland to enjoy its geothermal spas and to see the Northern Lights. Iceland is the perfect place to explore in a campervan, and campervans are the perfect way to explore Iceland! There are loads of amazing places to visit and stay on the island of ice and fire, and its simple road system and small size make it hard to get lost!
The full-time #VanLife is too extreme for most people; we like our creature comforts and the security of a brick and mortar home. But a #VanLife holiday is a different proposition altogether.
