Bon Jovi, the “Limitless”Rock Band
There aren’t many rock bands that have stayed together for as long as Bon Jovi has. Formed in Sayreville, New Jersey in 1983, the rock band includes:
- Jon Bon Jovi- singer
- David Bryan – keyboardist
- Tico Torres- Drummer
- Phil X- Guitarist and
- Hugh McDonald- Bassist
The rock band have previously worked with labels such as Mercury, Island and Vertigo. Their genres include: glam metal, arena rock, hard rock, and pop rock. They’ve been active since 1983 but took a hiatus from 1990-1991 then 1997-1998. Some of the past members of the group include Alec John Such who was let go in 1994 and Richie Sambara who left the group in 2013.
Bon Jovi released their first album in 1984 followed by their second in 1985. The release of their third album, “Slippery when wet”, threw the group to the limelight because of its success that enabled it to sell more than 20 million copies. Visit Song-list.net for more information.
The album was such a success that two of the singles, “Livin’on a prayer”, and, “You give love a bad name”, were able to reach No. 1 on the Top 10 singles charts. To date, the group has managed to release 14 video albums, 3 live albums, sixty six singles, fourteen studio albums and much more.
Best Album and Hits
If you ask anyone who has been a hard core Bon Jovi fan, they’ll tell you that the best album the rock group has ever put out must be “Slippery when wet” released in 1986. The album was a huge success and went on to sell more than 28 million copies. The group has continued to quench the global thirst for quality rock music by churning piece after piece of original artwork with more than 130 million records being sold at the global level.
One of the most notable successes of the group was the release of “These days”, in 1996 after the exit of Alec Such. The record bagged major success in the European and Asian markets and even topped the Oricon chart in Japan after selling 379,000 copies in the week of its release.
One of the songs in the album, “It’s my life”, was widely successful even received a Grammy nomination for Best rock performance by a duo or group.

Current Work and Projects
Recently, on an Instagram post, the lead singer of the group, Jon Bon Jovi shared with his fans his latest project, a song on coronavirus and asked them to help him finish it. Initially, the group had plans to tour the US with Bryan Adams in June but, with the ongoing pandemic, plans were pushed to a later date.
